We would like to extend our gratitude to more than 3,000 students who were coming to our Computer Ohana Salon, group computer sessions since 1998 for the past 20 years. We have moved to a new location in 2018 on Bishop St., Honolulu. We have resumed a group session in 2019 as follows:
Saturdays 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Sorry, no validations for group sessions.
You can select from one session to six sessions. (The less the number of session, the rate for one session is more expensive.) Please inquire for the rates. The rate differ dependng on your experience, level, skills you want to learn and age. All the payments are prepaid. Reservations are required before taking classes. Beside class fees, "Enrollment fee" are assessed. (For Hawaii residents: Senior - $10.00 Adult - $20.00 Child - $30.00. ) Sorry, no parking validations.
Based on our 20-year-experience, we are able to accomodate students who are children, working adults and senior citizens. Our student age bracket ranges from 3 years old to 95 years old. Levels cover from a starter course for those who never touched a computer to advanced levels. Contents cover: Keyboard (typing), the basics of the computer, the Internet, Email, Operating system environments, Word basics to advanced, Excel I and II, PowerPoint, Basics of photo editing, Adobe Photoshop Element, Adobe Photoshop, Quickbooks, etc. We teach both Windows Computers and Apple Computers including iPhones and iPads.
One session is 90 minutes. Although we recommend enrolling in a six session program to cover one subject/program such as Word Basic (Word I), you can select from one session to 6 sessions if you want. A per-session-fee varies depending on how many sessions you are committing to. (The price for one session will increase when the number of sessions decreases.) If a 6-session-program is selected, the student must complete all sessions within six months. We recommend attending classes at least once a week continuously. We will provide homework assignments based on what the student learns in class. Completed assignments are expected to be submited to the instructor online. An instructor will check the homework and make sure the student understands the class contents. We expect the student to interact and communicate with an instructor after the class through assignments.
Fees vary depending on the course levels, ages and the number of classes you would like to partake. Please contact us and inquire by explaining your educational interests and experiences.
A class schedule will be disccussed upon the completion of payment. We are open for classes Saturday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. We will discuss the best days and time based on Student's and Instructor's availability. Will provide parking validations.
Enrollment fee for Hawaii residents: Senior - $10.00 Adult - $20.00 Child - $30.00
Tuition: We will advise you of your tuition fee based on your needs/interests, level, age & the number of sessions. Please inquire.
Thank you for making this Beginner class so much fun, enjoyable and easy to understand how the computer works and thinks. With all senior students in this class, and all at the same level, it made me much more comfortable for me. Everyone was at ease asking questions. I am looking forward to the Spring session. Amy (DOB: 1934)
To all senior citizens: This computer class is a very good way to start to have some knowledge in the computer. Today, almost everything is computerized, so at least it's good to know the basics of the computer. Plus, they have excellent instructors and they are very patient with us, "seniors". This is a fun and interesting class. This class will rejuvenate your brains. Our old brains need exercise. Ken (DOB: 1942)
Both instructos are very patient and thorough in explaining the many unfamiliar computer "tools" and functions. I'm much more confident and less apprehensive and frustrated since I have been attending Senior Computer Training Classes at Bilingual System Links. I also enjoy the many acquaintances at these sessions. Popo (DOB: 1932)
It has been the 6th month since I had enrolled in the computer classes at Bilingual System Links, and I am able to surf the Internet, receive/send emails, create folders and save files, rip/burn music CDs and download and transfer music to my iPod, transfer images from the digital camera, basic touch-ups on the photos and send them as an email attachment. My accomplishments are due to the excellent instructors with extreme patience and their abilities to encourage students and have us seniors gain confidence in learning the computer. I would like to thank the instructors, and recommend other seniors to take the computer classes at Bilingual System Links. I would further proceed to advanced photo editing classes next month.
